Katie Galloway

Katie Galloway is the W. M. Keck Career Development Professor in Biomedical Engineering and Chemical Engineering at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Galloway earned a Ph.D. and an MS in Chemical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), and a BS in Chemical Engineering from University of California at Berkeley. She completed her postdoctoral work at the University of Southern California. Her research has been featured in Science, Cell Stem Cell, Cell Systems, and Development. She has won multiple fellowships and awards including the NIH Maximizing Investigators' Research Award (MIRA) R35, the NIH F32, and Caltech’s Everhart Award.

The Galloway lab focuses on integrating synthetic circuitry to drive cellular behaviors. The lab extracts systems-level principles that govern complex, dynamic cellular behaviors such as cellular reprogramming. Harnessing tools from synthetic biology and approaches in molecular systems biology, the lab aims to develop novel tools to examine cellular transitions and engineer cellular therapies.
