Patrick graduated in 2017 with a B.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where he studied the evolution of antibiotic resistance in the lab of Dr. Margaret Riley. Afterwards, he worked briefly as a research technician in the lab of Dr. Eliezer Calo at MIT, where he studied the RNA binding protein DDX21 and performed image quantification of protein localization. Following his work in the Calo lab, he worked as software developer before returning to MIT in the CSB program. He plans to combine his varied experience to tackle questions that lie at the interface between computer science and biology.
