Mackenzie graduated in 2020 from Smith College with a B.A. in Physics and Biological Sciences. At Smith, she conducted research in Michael Barresi’s lab investigating the development of structures in the embryonic zebrafish forebrain using experimental and computational approaches. Mackenzie fell in love with the complexity of development in the Barresi Lab and intends to pursue a research career combining her interests in physics and developmental biology. Outside of science, Mackenzie enjoys playing double bass in the orchestra.
